A  Mississippi teenager who admitted to shooting his mother’s boyfriend has now received his sentence — a lengthy prison term.

On Tuesday, Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens announced via social media that Le’Andrew Williams, 19, will serve 35 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision. Williams pleaded guilty to the first-degree murder of Jimmie Lee Pierce Jr., 49, who was shot and killed outside his Jackson apartment in May 2022. Williams was only 15 at the time of the shooting and was one of three individuals arrested in connection with the crime.

According to court records reviewed by WJTV, Williams grew enraged after reading sexually explicit messages between his mother and Pierce. Fueled by anger, he decided to confront Pierce.

WJTV reported that Williams originally planned to rob Pierce and enlisted the help of two family members: Corey Hodge, 22, and Bonny Fields, 27, his cousin and uncle, respectively.

On May 16, 2022, a witness at the scene told Jackson Police they saw Williams and Hodge approach Pierce and demand his wallet. Pierce reportedly responded, “We don’t have anything.” Williams then shot him twice in the chest, according to the witness account reported by WAPT.
