A traffic stop on Wednesday in Boron resulted in the arrest of a 52-year-old man who was carrying over two and a half pounds of methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin, according to Kern County Sheriff’s deputies. The man also had a large sum of cash and multiple firearms in his possession.
Around 2:15 p.m. on June 11, 2025, a KCSO deputy pulled over a vehicle for multiple traffic violations near Del Oro Street and Tamarisk Avenue in the Desert Lake community. The driver, identified as Robert Shaw of Boron, was reportedly found with controlled substance paraphernalia.
A search of Shaw’s vehicle uncovered the following items:

1.3 pounds of methamphetamine

1.5 pounds of marijuana

1.57 ounces of heroin

A large amount of cash

A digital scale

A loaded handgun

A loaded short-barreled rifle without a serial number

A semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle
Shaw was arrested on multiple felony charges and booked into Mojave Jail.
