Authorities recently seized nearly 7,000 illegal marijuana plants in a major Northern California drug bust.
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, along with the regional SWAT team and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, executed several search warrants last week in the Brownsville and Dobbins areas.
While the primary goal was to uncover illegal marijuana cultivation, investigators also found additional criminal violations, including an illegal firearm, banned fumigant pesticides, and multiple water code infractions, according to YCSO.
By the end of the operation, deputies had eradicated 6,961 marijuana plants.
A 34-year-old man was arrested near Pine Ridge Drive in Brownsville, and a 61-year-old man was taken into custody near Sun Forest Court in Dobbins. Both face charges of felony marijuana cultivation, possession for sale, and resisting arrest.
