A probation search last Tuesday led to two arrests in Grass Valley after Nevada County Sheriff’s deputies acted on a tip submitted through their online form. Deputies found methamphetamine and several types of drug paraphernalia at the scene.
Adam Beck, 41, who is under Post Release Community Supervision, was arrested and now faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance for sale and unlawful possession of tear gas. Abigail Halford, 31, who lived at the same Braemar Way residence, was also taken into custody. Both had access to areas of the home where drugs and paraphernalia were located.
Beck and Halford were charged with possession of a controlled substance and illegal drug paraphernalia. Beck is also accused of violating the conditions of his supervised release under PRCS.
The case highlights the value of the sheriff’s office’s digital tip line, which allows residents to confidentially report suspected criminal activity. However, officials stress that the tip line is not meant for emergencies or incidents in progress—in those cases, they urge the public to call dispatch directly or dial 9-1-1.
